Participating in a shooting competition is not always just a duty to fulfill one of the prerequisites for the performance of state service as a member of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard.
On June 13, 2026, members of the corps from the Dubnica nad Váhom facility met to not only compare their shooting skills, but above all to spend a Saturday morning in a sporting spirit together with their colleagues.
The service weapon shooting competition was attended by 18 male officers and 4 female officers of the corps, who tested their shooting skills in four disciplines.
Under the supervision of shooting instructors, the competitors gradually tested not only the accuracy and speed of their shooting, but also their orientation in an unknown environment, the speed of movement between targets, shooting from a sitting position, and a shooting duel, in which the faster and more accurate shooter advanced in the knockout bracket to the next round. A service shotgun was used in one of the shooting disciplines, while in the other disciplines, competitors had the opportunity to choose a service pistol at their own discretion.
At the end of the event, a goulash prepared by their colleagues awaited all participants, regardless of their shooting skills or their placement in the competition.
The event was held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Dubnica nad Váhom facility. Given the positive feedback from the contestants, the shooting competition may become a tradition that will not only test and develop the shooting skills of the corps members, but will also contribute to strengthening the collective of the Dubnica nad Váhom facility.
