It is becoming a tradition that in this autumn period, sentenced prisoners from the open unit of the Prešov remand prison and prison meet with professional staff from the non-profit organization Trojlístok, which is dedicated to helping addicted and co-dependent persons. The first Sunday in October was no exception, when twelve sentenced prisoners participated in an anti-drug awareness activity on the premises of Trojlístok.
The meeting was focused not only on providing information about addiction issues, but above all on supporting the realization of their consequences in personal, family, and social life. Through group discussion, experiential activities, model situations, and practical examples, the sentenced prisoners had the opportunity to express their opinions and reflect on their own life decisions. The staff of the non-profit organization Trojlístok once again demonstrated an expert, professional, and at the same time human approach. Thanks to their many years of experience, they managed to create an open and confidential atmosphere in which participants could discuss even difficult topics without fear.
We believe that similar activities can be one of the incentives for sentenced prisoners to make a positive change in their lifestyle and to make more responsible decisions in the future.
