On August 5, 2026, lectures focused on health promotion were held at the Institute for Execution of Prison Sentences for Juveniles in Sučany. In the first part, the lecture was attended by convicted men assigned to the exit section, and in the second part, the participants were convicted women assigned to the exit room.
The lecture was led by Mgr. Ing. Jozef Pišta from the state-subsidized organization Healthy Regions, which falls under the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. In the years 2024–2029, the organization is implementing the national project Healthy Communities, co-financed by the European Union within the Slovakia Program.
The main topics of the lecture were preventive check-ups and vaccination. The convicted men and women gained information about the importance of regular prevention, recommended preventive check-ups, vaccination options, and the health care to which they are entitled. The lecture also included time for questions, during which the convicted individuals could discuss topics they might encounter upon returning to everyday life. Taking care of one's own health is an important part of an independent life, and awareness of prevention options can contribute to a more responsible approach to health as well as the timely resolution of health problems.
