Hike to the Lookout Tower on Šanca in Sabinov

The Sentence Execution Department in Sabinov of the Prešov Remand Prison and Correctional Institution organized a hike to the Lookout Tower on Šanca in Sabinov as part of the activities of the exit section. The goal of the activity was to provide the convicted persons with a change of environment, support their mental well-being, and motivate them to spend their free time actively in a natural setting. During the hike, participants had the opportunity to admire the surrounding landscape, recharge their energy from the time spent in nature, and spend time outside the usual environment of the institution.

The convicted persons evaluated this activity very positively. They particularly appreciated the opportunity to change their environment, rest in nature, and regain their strength. At the same time, the hike contributed to strengthening their motivation and overall mental well-being, which is a significant part of the resocialization process. Such activities are an important part of the work of the exit section because they promote the development of positive habits, a responsible approach to free time, and help in the successful preparation of the convicted for their return to normal life after serving their sentence.
