Third Annual Sučany Juvenile Correctional Institution Director's Cup in Service Weapon Shooting

On October 2, 2026, officers from the security department of the Sučany Juvenile Correctional Institution organized the "Third Annual Director's Cup of the Sučany Juvenile Correctional Institution" in service weapon shooting. The event was attended by sixteen two-member teams from the Correctional Institutions in Sučany, Ružomberok, the Remand Prison in Žilina, the Remand Prison and Correctional Institution in Prešov, the Remand Prison and Correctional Institution in Košice, the District Police Directorate in Martin, the Emergency Motorized Unit in Žilina, the Municipal Police in Martin, as well as members of the 5th Special Operations Regiment of the Slovak Armed Forces and a team of retired officers from the Prison and Judicial Guard Corps and the Slovak Police Force. The competition took place at four tactical stages where shooters demonstrated their marksmanship skills. After all teams had competed, the individual results for both women and men were evaluated.

In the individual – women category, the rankings were as follows: 1st place First Lieutenant Mgr. Zuzana Pokrievková – Sučany Correctional Institution, 2nd place Zuzana Jonášová – Municipal Police Martin and 3rd place Captain Mgr. Karmen Kalnická - Sučany Correctional Institution.

In the individual – men competition the rankings were as follows: 1st place Warrant Officer Michal Podhradský – District Police Directorate Martin, 2nd place Andrej Remeň – Municipal Police Martin and 3. place Major Mgr. Ivan Miškuf – Remand Prison and Correctional Institution Prešov.

The overall winners of the team category and winners of the 3rd Annual Traveling Cup of the Director of the Correctional Institution was the team from the District Police Directorate Martin, 2nd place was taken by members of the Remand Prison and Correctional Institution Prešov and 3rd place was awarded to the team from District Police Directorate Martin.

In conclusion, we would like to thank all participants for the disciplined conduct of the competition, for their participation in the shooting event, and we look forward to organizing the next annual service weapon shooting race.
