On Mission Sunday, October 18, 2026, members of the Dismas community, Krištof Letko, Jozef Fuňák, and Michal Libant, brought hope and a testimony of faith to the Banská Bystrica-Kráľová prison, the Medical-Rehabilitation Centre of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard in Kováčová, and the remand prison and prison in Banská Bystrica. As part of their evangelization tour, they met with remand prisoners, sentenced prisoners—both men and women—as well as prisoners in the unit for life sentences.
At 18, Krištof was preparing for the European Cyclocross Championships. After a severe accident and broken vertebrae, he lay motionless in bed for half a year, facing complete helplessness. All his athletic dreams collapsed in a single second. Today, three years since he began running again, he completes 80 to 100 km ultramarathons. He speaks about the chance to start over and do the right things for God, not for his own recognition. Today, he shares his story not only in remand prisons and prisons, but also on the Godzone tour across Slovakia.
The testimony that even from the greatest helplessness and the collapse of one's own plans, there is a path to peace and a new beginning, was heard in places where people need hope the most—behind prison walls.
