On September 3, 2026 a professional conference titled "Safe and Modern Prison System – A More Efficient, Economical, and Safer System" was held at the Lichtenstein Palace in Prague, to which representatives of the General Directorate of the Prison and Judicial Guard Corps were invited by the Director General of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic.
The conference was held with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, the Minister of Justice, the leadership of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, and other distinguished guests. The main topics were current challenges and possibilities for modernizing the prison system, particularly in the areas of personnel staffing and the use of modern security technologies.
Professional presentations and discussions concluded that the successful modernization of the prison system requires not only high-quality technical solutions and prepared personnel but also strong political and financial support from the government. The connection of human potential, modern technologies, and systemic support represents an important prerequisite for creating a more efficient, economical, and safer prison system.
Participation in the conference was a valuable opportunity for us to gain new knowledge, exchange experiences, and establish professional contacts. At the same time, it allowed us to gain insight into the direction of the prison system and security technologies from the perspective of our Czech colleagues.
We thank the Director General of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic for the invitation and the opportunity to attend this significant professional event. We believe that the acquired knowledge and experience will be beneficial for our future work and will contribute to finding modern and effective solutions in the field of security.
