Convicts from the Open Department of the Prešov Remand Prison and Correctional Facility, together with prison chaplain Fr. Mgr. Rastislav Zápach, took part in a walk to the Prešov Calvary. Along the way, they prayed the Stations of the Cross together, which they offered for their own intentions.
The goal of the walk was primarily to find quiet, gain spiritual strength, and also to refresh themselves in nature. They visited the Co-Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the Church of St. Joseph, where they silently offered their own petitions and thanks, thus being able to draw strength for their everyday moments and duties in the presence of the living Christ.
Due to positive feedback, this activity with the convicts has been repeated several times. A benefit is that while being outdoors a relaxed environment and atmosphere are created, communication is spontaneous and sincere, and it is also easier to work more openly with the convicts, thereby building mutual trust.
