
The Bratislava Pre-trial Detention Institute and Prison celebrated a significant milestone on Friday, October 2, 2026. On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of its establishment, a commemorative assembly was held in the premises of the Old National Council of the Slovak Republic, which was marked by respect for the institute's history, recognition of the work of its officers and staff, and gratitude to all who have contributed to fulfilling its mission over the decades.
The celebratory event took place with the participation of significant representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Prison and Court Guard Service, partner security and judicial institutions, as well as other invited guests. Among them were the Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic JUDr. Boris Susko, PhD., the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic and Minister of Defence JUDr. Robert Kaliňák, the Director General of the Prison and Court Guard Service Col. Ing. Jozef Lančarič and his deputy for economic affairs, as well as the Chairman of the Nation's Memory Institute Mgr. Jerguš Sivoš, PhD.
