We participated in the BRIDGE summer camp

Members of the Banská Bystrica–Kráľová Institute for the Execution of Prison Sentences participated in the BRIDGE summer camp from July 13 to July 16, 2026, organized by Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica in cooperation with the Community Organizing Center, the Volunteer Center, n. o., and Eastern Michigan University from the United States of America.

The camp was also focused on the development of English language communication skills and, through experiential learning, contributed to vocabulary expansion, the development of communication competencies, and strengthening self-confidence in oral expression. The members appreciated the open and friendly atmosphere of the English language teachers from Eastern Michigan University, Ms. Kamayia Smith and Mr. Sean Wiegand, thanks to whom the conversations were not only beneficial but also inspiring and fun.

The institute expresses sincere thanks to doc. PhDr. Alžbeta Brozmanová Gregorová, PhD. and Mgr. Zuzana Heinzová, PhD. from Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, a significant partner in non-formal education for not only incarcerated persons but also the institute's staff, for the invitation to the BRIDGE summer camp and the offer of English language conversations.
