Based on an invitation from the director of Příbram Prison, members of the Ružomberok institute for the execution of sentences visited two prisons in the Czech Republic at the end of September.
The purpose of the visit was primarily the exchange of experience in the areas of inmate treatment, work assignment for convicts, as well as prevention and security of institutional facilities. During the working meeting, members of the Ružomberok institute familiarized themselves with the operations of the Příbram and Plzeň-Bory prisons. The program also included tours of the historic centers of both cities.
The entire visit took place in a friendly atmosphere focused on the exchange of experience. Although the work with convicts is very similar in both countries, areas were found where each side provided a different perspective. This once again confirmed the importance of such exchange visits, which are stimulating and beneficial for both parties.
