International relations and mutual cooperation between the Corps of Prison and Court Guard and the Prison Service of the Republic of Poland have been deepened once again, as from October 12 to 15, 2026, a Polish delegation led by the Director of the Prison in Gębarzewo, Col. Zbigniew Dolata, accepted the invitation of the Director of the Remand Prison and Prison Nitra, Col. Mgr. Milan Rus.
The primary purpose of the working meeting was focused mainly on addressing penitentiary issues, exchanging information, and, last but not least, also exchanging mutual experience in this area. During the exchange internship, officers of the Gębarzewo Prison had the opportunity, in addition to touring the Nitra facility, to visit the Detention Institute in Kremnica and the Medical and Rehabilitation Centre of the Corps of Prison and Court Guard in Kováčová and thus compare the Polish prison system with the Slovak one.
The exchange internship was concluded with a tour of the historic centre of Nitra, the Basilica of Saint Emmeram, and a tour of the first diocesan museum in Slovakia located in the historic farm buildings of Nitra Castle.
The joint meeting fulfilled its purpose and was inspiring for both participating parties.
