Visits in the exit section and in a different environment

During August 2026, in the correctional section in Sabinov of the Prešov Detention Institute and Correctional Institute, we conducted visits for inmates in an unconventional environment as part of the exit section program.

During the summer days, we used gazebos on the institute's grounds for this purpose, which provided a pleasant and peaceful environment for inmates to meet with their loved ones. The sunny weather enhanced the pleasant atmosphere and allowed the visits to take place outside of the standard visiting area.

The change of scenery was positively received not only by the inmates but also by their relatives. The opportunity to spend time together in a calmer and more relaxed setting contributed to a more pleasant visiting experience and created space for more natural communication between the inmates and their family members. Such activities are also part of the effort to create suitable conditions for maintaining and strengthening the family ties of inmates, which play an important role in the process of preparing them for a return to normal life.

The August visits in the gazebos thus brought a pleasant change from the traditional environment and, at the same time, showed that even a simple change of setting can positively influence the atmosphere of a meeting.
