General Golian

On October 8th, the unique historical drama GENERAL GOLIAN will arrive in Slovak cinemas. The filmmakers symbolically released the film's trailer and poster just before the weekend that marked the 82nd anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. The film's screenwriters and director promise viewers plenty of thrilling action scenes, and in addition to those, they intend to offer a deeply emotional romantic subplot. 'The year is 1944, and the Golians are faced with a major dilemma: heroism or family? At stake is not only the future of Slovakia but also the future of their son.' The film General Golian will thus introduce one of the most important figures in Slovak history, who, according to the filmmakers, has not received proper attention or recognition to this day.

In cooperation with historian Mgr. J. Vrábel, we decided to offer the accused and convicted individuals at the Prešov Remand Prison and Correctional Facility a lecture on the Slovak National Uprising followed by a discussion, in order to present a period of Slovak history in an interesting way in connection with this highly anticipated film premiere. Part of our guest's engaging presentation included the screening of the official trailer for the film, which was a great enrichment to the entire event.
