Barber workshop brought new skills and motivation

Modern trends in men's haircuts, practical demonstrations of barbering, and an inspiring story about the professional journey of a person who entered the craft through their own initiative were the main themes of the barber workshop, which June 17, 2026 was attended by inmates at the Košice-Šaca Prison and Detention Center. The event sparked great interest and provided participants with insight not only into the craft itself but also into professional employment opportunities in this dynamically developing field.

During the workshop, the barber introduced the inmates to the latest trends in men's hairstyles and shared his personal story. He told the participants about his professional journey and emphasized that, despite not being a trained hairdresser, he was able to succeed in the field thanks to determination, education, and completing a professional course. Through his example, he pointed out that every person has the opportunity to learn new skills and build a career even in a field where they initially had no professional training. Part of the program was a detailed introduction to the tools that barbers use in their work. The inmates became familiar with various types of scissors, combs, clippers, and other aids. The barber explained their practical use, correct working techniques, and the importance of individual tools in creating modern hairstyles. A live cutting demonstration sparked great interest, during which participants could observe individual procedures directly in practice. The practical part of the workshop allowed the inmates to better understand the principles of barbering and gain an idea of what this profession involves.

The event was met with a very positive response. The inmates appreciated its contribution, interesting content, and the opportunity to learn more about a profession that could represent a prospect for their future employment. At the same time, they expressed interest in organizing other similar educational and motivational activities. The barber workshop thus brought not only new knowledge and inspiration but also encouragement for personal development and searching for new opportunities for the future.
