On August 2, 2026, Žilina hosted the 10th annual football tournament for the Cup of the Director of the Žilina Institute for Serving Sentences and Institute for Serving Sentences for Youth.
The competition was played in a round-robin format. Individual matches brought commitment, fighting spirit, and sportsmanship, but the tournament was not just about the results. Throughout the day, there was also space for joint meetings and informal conversations.
The home team from the Žilina institute finally confirmed their quality and, after successful performances, secured 1st place. After previous years, when the cup traveled to other teams, it has finally returned to where it belongs – home in Žilina.
Final standings of the 10th annual tournament:
1st place – ÚVVaÚVTOS Žilina
2nd place – ÚVTOS Ružomberok
3rd place – OR PZ Žilina
4th place – Karviná Prison
5th place – ÚVTOS for Juveniles Sučany
Successful organization, fair sporting performances, and a friendly atmosphere confirmed that similar events make a significant contribution to building both professional and personal relationships. The sports day in Žilina once again showed that joint activities strengthen team spirit and create memories that are fondly remembered.
